Lent Sermon Series: From Dust We Came

To live as a human being is to live in relationship—sharing life together and recognizing each other’s needs. This has been true since the beginning of time, and certainly highlighted as a basic human need while enduring the relational disruption of a pandemic. As Lent is a season meant for returning to God and confessing those places where we have drifted from the “mark” of faithfulness, we will consider the gift of God’s call to recommit to each other. We will explore together God’s covenant renewed with humanity from generation to generation, the ways internalized shame becomes a barrier to authentic connection, what it means to live with integrity where what we believe matches what we do, and why forgiveness is the greatest gift of all. Join us as we face together the points at which our commitment to kinship with others begins and seems to end – based on Gregory Boyle’s book Barking at the Choir: The Power of Radical Kinship.
