Over the course of the last year, we have each experienced at some level both external challenges and internal resistance that threatens to hold us back. As we approach the new year in 2021, perhaps the most productive and meaningful New Year’s resolution we can commit to is not weight loss or a commitment to read more, but an intentional look at how greater resilience can be honed and “tempered” in our lives for the long haul. We will continue to live in a world of tumult and change–it is the only reality in which we can be certain. When we reframe the fires of life as opportunities for growth rather than threats or barriers to success, we over time become both stronger and more flexible. If we allow ourselves to “temper” in the process of heating, holding, hammering, cooling, and reheating like the process that adds stress to raw iron, we may find ourselves eventually refined into something new to be used by God in powerful ways, offering greater wisdom and skill to the families and organizations we love and serve.
Join us over these six weeks (January 10th-February 14th) to explore how we, by the power of God, can grow resilience in our lives for a New Year with endless possibilities!
