Open hearts. Outward faith.

What defines University United Methodist Church is both who we are and what we do. It’s our people and our works. Our way of seeing the world and how we act within it.

For us, it starts with open hearts — inclusive, curious, and vulnerable — a deeply connected community that leads with love above all. Open hearts are willing to share life’s joys and sorrows, its triumphs and disappointments. Open hearts encourage depth, diversity and discovery, allowing a generous life of faith to flourish.

And while open hearts welcome people in, they also invite us out of our building.

Living an outward faith means “walking the talk” and doing our best to live in a way that reflects the values and teachings of Jesus. It’s a thinking, practicing Christianity yearning to create goodness and light wherever needed. It’s reaching deeper into the campus community and to those on the margins; renewing our commitment to our partner organizations; and reimagining what a just, equitable community can look like.

When we come together with open hearts and practice an outward faith, we transform ourselves as we transform the world. Learn more about where we’ve come from, what we stand for and who we are today:
