Jesus said, “Let the children come to me and do not stop them, because the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.”

Matthew 19:14

Birth to 5th Grade

At UUMC we strive to teach our children about their wonderful loving creator, the saving grace of Jesus Christ, and the ever-present comfort of the Holy Ghost. We believe as it is written in Proverbs 22:6, “Train children in the right way, and when old, they will not stray.”

All of the children’s classes use the Orange curriculum. The Orange Strategy aligns leaders and parents to create a community around a timeless message that mobilizes the next generation to love God and serve others. The children watch a fun-filled video with the Bible story, story lab, and closing that tells them how the story relates to their daily lives. The teachers then have activities to reinforce the day's lesson. It is our goal to have each child feel the love and joy of Jesus each week.

Faith Friends

Faith Friends is a children’s group of 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. We meet on Sunday afternoons from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and it is a great way for the children to build their faith and make friends through Bible study and fun. During Faith Friends, the kids enjoy a time filled with crafts, snacks, and outings. Joining the Faith Friends children’s group helps prepare the kids for their next step as a part of the congregation, joining youth group.
