As we discover more about following God‘s call in our lives, we invite you to fill out the new “Serve” form. This form includes all the ways you can serve in our church from opportunities in the Baton Rouge community to those within the worship service. We hope you will take the time to check it out to see what calls to you.
UUMC ministries help church members find meaningful, relevant ways to strengthen their relationship with Christ. Make weekday small groups part of your routine. We'd like to invite you to visit our Grow Form and find your place at one of our intended groups. We have groups that are all women, all men, and couples.
We invite you to participate in our Advent Study led by Rev. Mary Rachel Moore. We will use the novel "Keep Watch With Me: An Advent Reader for Peacemakers" as our guide. This study will meet via Zoom, and the registration link will be available through the Church Center App and our website.
Centering Prayer is a contemplative Christian meditation practice designed to deepen one's relationship with God by fostering a state of interior silence. The practice is typically done for about 20 minutes, twice a day, and is intended to create a space for encountering God’s presence beyond thoughts, emotions, and sensory experiences. We will meet on Zoom each Wednesday for Centering Prayer beginning October 2nd, 2024.
This group will begin on October 7th, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Parlor at University United Methodist Church. This group will run for eight weeks. It will be led by Ki Addison. Our guiding book is called Understanding Your Grief: 10 Essential Touchstones for Finding Hope and Healing Your Heart by Alan D. Wolfelt, PH.D., and the church will provide a copy of the book for any person wanting to participate.
