Sharing our time, our talents and our resources is an act of faith.

University United Methodist Church relies on the generosity of our members to help provide a fertile, fruitful spiritual home and send our people outside our walls to help transform the world. We believe that giving is a bold affirmation of our beliefs and mission, and we deeply appreciate every gift or sustaining pledge of financial support.

UUMC Giving Menu

Starting this year, we'd like to share specific opportunities for generosity beyond regular tithes and offerings — tangible projects that strengthen our church home and help us live out our shared mission. This “Giving Menu” offers a way for each of us to give toward something that resonates with our hearts. Every gift — large or small — is a step toward building spaces that welcome, connect, and serve.

Necessary Facility Improvements:

Current Project: Holmes Building Fellowship Hall Refresh

The Holmes Building is home to our library, youth area, and Fellowship Hall — spaces that host countless meals, gatherings, and ministries throughout the year. These areas see constant use, from weekly programs to community events and after-school activities.

Our goal this season is to refresh the furnishings of the Fellowship Hall with new, durable seating and tables built to serve for years to come. This upgrade is about more than aesthetics — it’s about continuing our tradition of hospitality, comfort, and care for all who enter our doors.

1. Replace Worn Banquet Chairs

We currently have 140 chairs, many of which (over 80 chairs) have reached the end of their usable life. These new chairs feature durable, stain-resistant fabric designed to withstand heavy daily use from both congregational gatherings and student programs.

Goal: 80 - 140 chairs to furnish the Holmes Building and Fellowship Hall.

Green Patterned Fabric Banquet Chair $33.23 - 33.54 each

Total for whole project: $4,650

2. New Round Tables for Shared Meals

The Fellowship Hall’s tables have served countless gatherings but are showing their age. New folding tables will ensure our space is ready for community meals, events, and celebrations.

Goal: 6-10 round tables with rolling cart.

60” Round Plastic Folding Tables - $165.81 each

Total for whole project: $1,658

3.  New portable rolling speaker - $300

Our portable speaker has been a victim of a recent theft.

4. New Projector In Fellowship Hall

Used for special events and presentations, this projector would replace the one we have had in recent years that has come to the end of its life. Cost TBD

Aspirational Goals:

1. Replenish operating reserves - Dollar amount of your choosing

Increased expenses and less recurring giving have caused us to deplete our reserves. Help us replenish operating reserves and improve daily church finances.

How to Give

You can give online by selecting an item on this page , or by noting “Chairs” "Projector" or one of the aspirational goals on your check or envelope.

There are several convenient ways to give:

Repairing the Breach - Generosity Update

Repairing the Breach - Generosity Update

Over the years, the people of University United Methodist Church have shown remarkable faithfulness. We have worshiped together, served our neighbors with compassion, and raised generations of children to know the love of God. Every brick of this campus, every note of music, every word of prayer has been made possible because someone before us said “yes” — yes to God’s call, yes to generosity, yes to the next generation.

Now, it’s our turn.

Join us as we explore our campaign for the support of our ministry in 2026.

  Give During Worship

Give During Worship

Every week, ushers pass the offering plate at both of our Sunday services. Use this as a chance to contribute weekly by either cash or check. If giving cash, please place it in an envelope and write your name clearly on the outside so we can properly record the gift in your annual giving statement.

  Make A Planned Gift

Make A Planned Gift

A legacy gift is an opportunity for those of us who care deeply about University United Methodist Church and the dynamic ministry we offer beyond our own time here on earth. Most often, it takes the form of a gift through our will, estate plan or charitable gift annuity. For many, this may be the greatest gift we make — our gift of a lifetime.

Make Your Gift Go Further!

Did you know that many companies offer matching gift programs to amplify their employees’ charitable contributions? This means that your donation or pledge to the University United Methodist Church could be doubled or even tripled, thanks to your employer.

We invite you to explore whether your workplace has a corporate matching program and pray about making our church the recipient. It’s a wonderful way to enhance your support for our mission in the community.

If you find that you would like to take advantage of a corporate match, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Rev. Katie at revkatie@universitymethodist.org for an initial conversation. Thank you for considering this opportunity to maximize your impact at the University United Methodist Church!
